Bio

Fareed was born in Philadelphia in November of 1986. At the young age of 11, Reeds rapping mentor, Nino Brown saw exceptional skill in him and nurtured Reed to perfect his craft as an emcee. Brown put Reed into the studio, financing his first project and encouraged the young rapper to participate in rap battles throughout the city. Growing up in the Bartram Village projects in Southwest Philly with his grandmother, Reed learned early on how to fend for himself.

The glitz and allure of street life was always a constant on 58th Street where drugs and violence ran rampant. Through all of his trials and tribulations, Reed never lost focus on his music or his commitment and obligations to his family. Based on his street buzz as a lyrical assassin, he had the highest selling mix-tape in Philadelphia and the tri-state area. He only added to that furor by his well documented street battles on You Tube accompanied by various mix-tape and DVD appearances. His underground projects have made him the highest grossing hip-hop artist in Philadelphia. His discography includes A.A.P., Dollar Day , Enemy of the State , and Say Cheese along with Reed Between The Lines and his Reedadelphia series with the latter all being released in the first quarter of 2012. With over 30 DVDs and films under his belt, Reeds filmography is too extensive to mention.

Reeds talent has been recognized from the underground to the mainstream with shout outs from superstars such as Will Smith and 50 Cent. He landed a record deal in 2006 with the majority of the album being produced by Scott Storch and Swizz Beatz collectively. Unfortunately his debut album was shelved and never saw the light of day. He was nominated for Best Up & Coming Artist at the Philadelphia Hip-Hop Awards and has performed on Power 99s Come-Up Show numerous times. He has also performed on BETs 106 & Park on Freestyle Friday and at BETs Spring Bling in South Beach. Reed has collaborated with a number of mainstream artists including: Briscoe (Cash Money) Doug E. Fresh (Def Jam), Yung Joc (Bad Boy South), Freeway (Roc-A-Fella/G-Unit), Gillie Da Kid, Ricah Marley, and Roscoe P. Coldchain to name a few. ??

With networking communities such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, Reeds body of work is simply an undeniable force to be reckoned with and is gaining exposure across the world. He has a staggering 20 million plus YouTube views. These numbers do not include the 52 unofficial Reed Dollaz pages posted by fans. The people have spoken and the reign of the explosive rapper from Philadelphia will not stop.
