Refinaria

Formed in 2003, the Refinaria band seemed to be fond of the purpose to recover great classics from brazilian and international music.
Big names as João Bosco, Elis Regina, Tom Jobim, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holliday and other highly regarded interpreters and composers are part of their repertoir.
The main idea of Refinaria is to select this “masterpieces” and create new musical arrangements that are in accordance to the sound of these days, creating a repertoire that mixes all this with new names as Norah Jones, Lisa Ekdhal, Nouvelle Vague, Bebel Gilberto and others.
Performed as an acoustic quartet playing Piano, Acoustic Guitar, Bass and Vocal, Refinaria creates with all this references, a contemporary sound that passes through Triphop, Jazzy, Newbossa and introduces a new worldwide pop music.
Refinaria has been presented in some Festival and important Events such as Winter Festival in Campos do Jordão - São Paulo, Tiradentes's Culture and Gastronomy Festival- Minas Gerais, launch of BH Shopping Magazine and in a season at Vinnil Cultura Bar in Belo Horizonte that resulted in very successful presentations.
In 2005 the band was invited to release a CD with its concept to BH Shopping as a gift to its main clients. It was made ten thousand copies.
For this year, Refinaria is releasing a new CD with rock and roll 90' top hits.
