Biography

In their debut self-titled EP, Orange County based Alternative Rock outfit 'Regarding Jack' take a traditional acoustic-folk approach and eloquently blend it with driving rock melodies. Written entirely in the studio, this unique collection of songs brings forth an honest examination of heartache and a sense of apprehension with one’s own decisions through truthful and heart-felt lyrics. Produced, engineered and mixed by Lars Stalfors (This Blush) and mastered by Pete Lyman (Bloc Party, The Mars Volta) this album is guaranteed not to disappoint. Already in the studio working on their follow-up and playing incessantly throughout the west coast, Regarding Jack are sure to engage any listener that appreciates well crafted songwriting and honest lyrics.

Each member brings his own expertise through playing a wide variety of music. Lead guitarist Jay Akins borrows from his 15 years of playing and songwriting experience with a vast range of musical backgrounds...from finger style acoustic to jazz and hard rock. Bassist Ali Zakka’s energetic presence onstage is unparalleled. His musical upbringing lies within punk-rock and ska, though his intricate and delicately written lines show much more diversity. Front man Andrew Corradini has got extensive experience performing on the road across the U.S. and in parts of Europe and the U.K. Coming from a more “folk-rock” background, he bring a very rich and unique blend of lyricism and musicianship to the group.

Angel Waiting

Written By: Regarding Jack

"Angel Waiting" - Regarding Jack

Stuck inside a silent reverie, it's not up to me
I've got something for your soul
Sister, it's all over finally, I can get to sleep
Now and forever more
All the pictures hanging on the wall, I didn't take 'em all
No, most of them took me
Way out far beyond the reach of the memories of this war

I hope there's an angel waiting for me
But I fear something different is at my door
If ever an angel soars above me
I'll beg it, have mercy and make me fear no more

I see the image of a castaway; yeah he's trapped away
Oh, staring back at me
Through a window on the promenade, as I serenade
In his name
I'll open up every portal; foolish mortals
Where were you then, when I needed you?
As they all need you just the same

I hope there's an angel waiting for me
But I fear something different is at my door
If ever an angel soars above me
I'll beg it, have mercy and make me fear no more

Photograph

"Photograph" - Regarding Jack

Though unfamiliar, didn't you love us in that photograph?
It's the kind of picture to loosen up the time it'll take to crash
A drink in the afternoon
I'm all in pieces; hope I can see you soon
Thank you for the effervescent day you've left me with

I wish that I could come clean
Running 'round in circles, I'm busy like a movie screen
Every chance I see
They give way to my 'devil's shoulder'

I've mentioned everything that I can think of about myself
But lately I've been feeling like I'm someone else
Honesty's got me down
Sat on the floor, ain't nothing I can live without
Every secret is best kept when you don't tell yourself

I guess it's ordinary as the rain
If I slip and fall I can dust off myself again
I really can't complain
Just make way for my 'devil's shoulder'

Lay that blanket down
As I follow the sweat around your shapes
Then we can rearrange it
With these words from such a young heart
Saying it all will be okay

It's gonna be okay (3x)

Smaller Through Words

Smaller Through Words - Regarding Jack

What would the walls say? What would they know?
They call you their sweetheart who's come into her own
Haven't you noticed growing smaller through words?
Carefully trained to forget what hurts
Forget what hurts

Surrender one thing
Make it apparent
I hope to find you strong enough to lay your body down on me

Motherly fingers worn to the bone
If only you'd rested so long ago
I've never collected all the right words
To effectively make known my thoughts, no matter how absurd

But for the first time
Now I truly see
I hope to find you strong enough to lay your body down

The hours unearth us in the parlors of disarray
Smitten and ready; were uncovered and bare
My mind's a balloon taking flight far from yesterday
Hold on tight, don't be scared
