"'Reggaeland All Stars Showcase': the Jamaican soul landing in Apolo"

(...) “Reggaeland is a new platform that wants to promote the live music as the best card of the local and international toasters.” (...)
“We speak about the extraordinary Jamdowners, a young band from Tarragona that had the privilege to play in the show of Sean Paul –the bad boy of the nu reggae- and that in this opportunity will play the necessary rythms to let the Barcelonian Miguel Arraigo and Jah Nattoh, to the Nigerian Prince Osito, and to the Latin American Maia, to distil their good arts regarding dancehall, soul and roots rock reggae with Mediterranean flavour.” (...)

The band has been founded teo year ago, when Jamdowners meet the three singers, Maia, Jah Nattoh and Miguel Arraigo.

Jamdowners was born at the end of 2005 as a continuation of the band Tarraco Reggae Quartet when it meets a second keyboard, Genis. All the members of Jamdowners had been playing before in local bands as Meli & the Xavalins, Alpha Boys School or La Thorpe Brass.
Their first show was to play with the Guinean singer Lyricson (ex-singer of the band 08001 and second voice of Manu Chao in his Radio Bemba International Tour), to continue playing with other local and international artists such as Jah Nattoh, Miguel, U-Rie, Prince Osito from Barcelona, Pep Anthony and Toni Rude from Tarragona. Chulito Camacho and Ruben Lopez (ex-singer of the band Malarians) from Madrid, Oli (Guinea-Bissau), Ben Jammin'(Barcelona, SP -England), Alton Ellis (Jamaica), Half Pint (Jamaica), Dawn Penn (Jamaica), Jah Mali (Jamaica), etc.
Paralelly to this project the members play in other bands as Txilum, Vallsamba Reggae Project, Tumbuctu, Green Valley...

This Chilean with 15 years of experience in the music business, until now has put her voice in compositions more throwing towards the latin dance and pop. Her interest by the Jamaican cadence has approached it to the Barcelonian independent record company Reggaeland, to prepare a new record. Latin Pop, reggae, dancehall and international projection, with its velvet voice so near to the soul and to the original rythm & blues.

Jah Nattoh
Been born in Badalona, Jah Nattoh, conscious trovador of the 21st Century, it directs sharpened verses to the heart of the Beast, surrounded in sweet melodies, dressed in the best rythims, touching the conscience of whom it listens to them, without yielding to the discouragement in which the system wants us to sink.
Compromised with his speech, Jah Nattoh already has succed in some countries of Latin America, in a tour of 4 months during 2006/07, by Mexico, Venezuela, and Chile. His first record "EN BUENAS MANOS" has been already released by REGGAELAND.

Miguel Arraigo
Before singing in the reggae Badalona bands “Norte Africa” and “Arraigo”, Miguel Arraigo is a social feature writer with own opinion and arguments to defend it, and a very near vision of the value of the fruit that comes from the daily work. Already he has released a twenty of songs, with letters of urban soul and sounds with roots nailed in the fertile fields of rumba, flamenco and the Jamaican syncopate rythims.
