Bio
Rejouissance was started in 2003 by Jim Heffernan. It began as recording acoustic guitar and drum loops into a tape recorder in his brooklyn apartment, but as time went on, he was able to collaborate with different musicians to play this music live. They are working on a full length that will be done by February 2009 on Time to Operate Records, and feel that biographies about bands feels fucking weird. Watch me stroke my ego and hype up what is actually extremely important to me.
We started officially touring as a band in February of 2007. We have played with some fantastic people across the country, including Halo Fauna, Slingshot Dakota, Missletoe, Bridge and Tunnel, and Daylight Robbery to name a few. We like that we have upstate DIY and hardcore roots to not miss the point of why people actually make music and tour. Pure intention. We love playing for new people, seeing new bands, and creating memories. We play anywhere. VFW Halls, large college auditoriums, backyards, sewers, whatever. Music doesn't belong only in clubs.
Our influences are the spirit of every small town's grassroots music and art scene, Syracuse, Washington DC, Detroit, Morphine, Woody Guthrie, Maha Vishnu Orchestra, and thin lizzy.
Thank you for reading this, and do what makes you happy in your life.
