Biography

Relax to Paris is an Indie-Pop band based in Los Angeles. It was formed by singer / songwriter Ryan Gelber, who's devoted his life to his music and won various awards including the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Lifelong friend and bass player Garrett Marks soon joined Ryan, and together their classic rock and indie pop influences helped to create Relax to Paris’ distinctly unique sound. Singer / songwriter Kathryn Farren was next to become a member. She was busy writing songs and acting, until the day she and friend Ryan started jamming together, and realized their combined vocals and individual writing styles meshed perfectly to complete the RTP sound. While playing shows with a laptop for drumloops, they were also auditioning drummers on the side. Between their chemistry as friends and being a solid energetic drummer, Mario was the perfect fit.

Relax to Paris has been nominated for an American Music Award, as well as winning KROQ’s Battle of the Bands. Their Music has been featured in various soundtracks played on KROQ, and college radio. They’ve released three EPs, and are currently working on their first full-length album.

Lyrics

Dangerous Mix Of Chemicals

Written By: Ryan Gelber

My eyes
And your eyes
Walk a dangerous line

When my hands
And your legs
Intertwine

Last night
We argued
As we walked to your door

You kicked off the nightlight
And threw your clothes on the floor

I just froze up as you screamed
And dodged the shoes you threw at me

You and me are a dangerous mix of chemicals

A stab in the back
That’s broken my heart
The violence in sex
After you tear me apart

You and me are a dangerous mix of chemicals

You’re face down
On your bed
The make-up’s on your sheets

I nudge you
You don’t move
So I leave

As I walk
Down your stairs
I wonder if I should stay

We’re both mad
We need space
But sex gets in the way

So walk back up to your room
Scared of living without you

You and me are a dangerous mix of chemicals

A stab in the back
That’s broken my heart
The violence in sex
After you tear me apart

You and me are a dangerous mix of chemicals

Let me go
I know you’ll end up hating me
We tend to ruin everything
We’re dragging ourselves in the dirt
It’s sick I can’t stop until it hurts

You and me are a dangerous mix of chemicals
You and me are a dangerous mix
You and me are a dangerous mix
You and me are a dangerous mix of chemicals

A stab in the back
That’s broken my heart
The violence in sex
After you tear me apart

You and me are a dangerous mix of chemicals
You and me are a dangerous mix
You and me are a dangerous mix
You and me are a dangerous mix of chemicals

Crayons

Written By: Ryan Gelber

Pastel green and blue
Bring me back to you

Yellow hair and feet
The perfect shadows meet
I’m glad I keep my crayons with me

I’ll stay in the line for you
Paint your eyes green and your hair blue
Shining in the sun
You are having fun

I’ll stay in the lines for you
Then get some scissors and some glue
I’ll recreate my dream
And paste you in a scene with me

Waves built from the sea
Fall on top of me

If I look away
When the skyline’s gray
I’ll wish bright big thoughts
Your way

I’ll stay in the line for you
Paint your eyes green and your hair blue
Shining in the sun
You are having fun

I’ll stay in the lines for you
Then get some scissors and some glue
I’ll recreate my dream
And paste you in a scene with me

Notice Me

Written By: Ryan Gelber

So it goes this week
He gets you drunk
From all the drinks he keeps in his trunk
You laugh out loud
I join in too
Then he drowns me out
As he kisses you

You back away
He’s moving in
It’s just one date
So you let him win

Why aren’t you noticing?
Why aren’t you noticing?
He is only
He’s is only using you
Why aren’t you noticing?

He sucks you in
You be for more
You fall for him
His plan to score
His one-night-stand comes into play
Says he’s in a band to get you laid

To you see me here
I fall for you
There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do
I’ll take your head out of this place
There’s more to you than satin and lace

When will you notice me?
When will you notice me?
I am lonely
I am lonely for you
When will you notice me?

You hold back your cry
He went too far
It’s in his eyes
It’s in his car
You gasp for air he drives away
You hide in your hair
Now he’s ok

Look at me
I’m here for you
I’m at your feet
If you only knew
Your long hair stream
It blocks the glair
Look underneath
You’ll find me there

I want you to notice me
I want you to notice me
I am lonely
Are you lonely too?
I want you to notice me
I want you to notice me
