Bio

True art is taking what you vision and communicating it in the most natural form of expression, the heart.  The Hip Hop culture was specifically designed for unity, self-expression, and advocacy. With that being said an artist that can logically correlate experience with a lesson is designed for influence and impact.

Emerging onto the Hip Hop scene at a very early age, American recording artist Rell Cash formally known as Lorell Friend stands as one of the most impressive debuts in rap music. Immensely influenced by the likes of Jadakiss, Fabolous, Meek Mills, and Joe Budden while inspired by Tupac, Bigge, and Jay Z has given the elaborate emcee an array of style, form, and impact of lyricism and music.

Born and raised in Milwakee, Wisconsin with his family, Rell Cash absorbed his talent effortlessly through imitating his father as a child. Although his relationship with his father wasn’t the best, his father was his main source of musical influence.

As I child I didn't have a close relationship with my father as he was in the streets doing his thing but I wanted to be just like him so whenever I was around him I absorbed pretty much everything both good and bad.” – Rell Cash

His interest and natural ability to freestyle and write songs came about as his father shared with Rell his different tastes of music. Rell’s father would have him sing/rap along with some of his father songs and when he wouldn’t remember a line or so he would come up with his own lyrics. As Rell grew older, his interest in music grew deeper and deeper. Soon Rell Cash’s every interaction intersected with his love of Hip Hop and before he knew it his voice became a tool for the newly driven youth-found phenomenon.

Last March, the Hip Hop leader took his voice to the stage of SXSW as he shifted an audience on the House of Vans stage. From opening for Yo Gotti on a college tour/homecoming to winning song of the year on HNSradio.com (for Gin Life) the emcee has teamed up with Grammy nominated producer Shawdi P for his “2566” project that released September 2013.

Since then, Rell has gained more attention across the globe for his September 2014 release of his LP entitled “The Micheal Lock Report” drawing comparison between himself, and a the known crime lord Michael Lock, both natives of Milwaukee, WI. As of now, Rell is recording his next project “TRVPCV$H” set to drop March 2015 hosted by Dj MLK of Grand Hustle.

In a recent interview with Bold Magazine, the emcee spoke on his contribution to Hip Hop through his music as well as why he can relate to most but remain different from any Hip Hop artist on the charts now.

“I'm different because I'm not "commercial" so to speak. Yes, similar to a lot I have lived and experienced a lot. However, I'm not just a street rapper. I'm not just a basketball player turned rapper. I'm not just a rapper that dropped out of college, nor am I just another rapper that's had trouble with the law, in fact I'm all of those things. “ – Rell Cash

Recently teaming up with a new publicity firm and prepping the release of his new single, Rell Cash has come equipped to shift an entire music industry with his lyrical homicide while still remaining true to the art of music.
