Bio

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Rell XL,  found his love for hip hop at a young age. Rell began rapping as a way to tell stories of his experiences and just to have fun with his friends.  Writing poetry and lyrics since the age of 16, he developed his talent as a song writer.

Rell XL began taking his music career to another level within the year 2011.  He states “after, many efforts at reaching out to producers, I decided to produce and record, for myself; I grew impatient with being considered just another rapper”. As founder of Red Autumn Productions , he built his own studio and went to work, recording and writing for a compilation mixtape titled The City is For Us, where he is a featured artist on five songs. November 2012, he went on to release his first solo effort titled  Back to the Present. This

mixtape provided a lyrical conduit between the 90’s art form of hip hop. Back to the Presentserves as tribute to some of the greatest hip hop producers such as Pete Rock , and 9th Wonder. This project demonstrated his ability to tell intricate stories that possessed powerful messages over 90’s style hip hop instrumentals.  On December 15, 2014 Rell's second solo project "High Frequency"  was released via audiomack.com. This concept project  of Rellxl provided a more reflective  look into the  personal thoughts and emotions of Rell XL , with songs such as "So Low" ,and "Inhale". On October 17 2014 , he released his video titled "LRG" which is currently at 14,000 views on Youtube. As one of the members of the rap group "TTF THE GANG", he has produced and engineered tracks for fellow members , Oneezy, Marley Marz, Versace Chachi, and Dakim. Rell was influenced by the music styles of many artist including,  Tupac , NAS, Jay-Z, Mos Def, Biggie, Outkast, and Tribe Called Quest. Some of his inspiration can be attributed to his Aunt Margie who loved hip hop and watched music videos with him daily. Rell XL’s goal is to provide versatility, with a melting pot of music consisting of intricate flows from the east coast mixed with a bounce from the south, and thought provoking lyrics equivalent to some of the best lyricist that ever was able to progress in this genre.
