Rellen

In late 2012, in a small corner room on the second floor of a Virginia home, three teenagers--Singer Brittany Harkins, Drummer Chris Skrip, and Lead Guitarist Shane Murdock--came together to pursue a vision much greater than their individual talents. The teens enlisted the help of director and mentor Mr. Steve Archer, of The Blue Lords. Well known and respected throughout the area, Mr. Archer brought aboard two missing links--Bass Player Josh Odom, and Keyboardist Polina Gashnikova. 

Over the next four months, these teens rehearsed several hours every week in that little room, pulling together a comprehensive song list and achieving a level of rhythmic tightness not typically seen in a band that new. In a matter of months, the teens decided it was time to go public with their first gig. One problem though, they didn't have a name. 

With all the hard work and focus that got them to that point, one would think deciding on a name would be easy...not so. After a very long process, however, the obvious name came to the forefront. The members ultimately decided on the name "Rellen," and for a reason that just felt right. Rellen was the place where it all started, in that small corner room on the second floor of that Virginia home, a home on Rellen Street.
