Bio

Not apart from but apart of Northwest Mobile Alabama, lies a land of bayous, alligators and dark woodlands. This is Saraland, Alabama where the point of no return for those not welcome is known as Black Jack, the heart of it all and cradle of one of the most original hip hop talents of our time. His swagger is confident but humble, subdued yet intense...but when it comes to his intricate lyrical flow and resounding hooks, all hip hop fans he encounters are intent on being the first to get his next work of art just to be ahead of the crowd, he is none other than….. Rellik ”The Dirt Road Pimp” * born Jerel Simon.

Many major artists with whom he has performed; Ludacris, OutKast, UGK, Lil’Wayne, Plies, Rick Ross, T.I., Snoop Dogg, Cash Money Millionaires, Nelly and T-Pain just to name a few, are caught with that familiar frown of respect after his performances and acknowledge through their reaction that this artist is already among the elite in the industry. Rellik’s live performances are mesmerizing and so energetic that his audiences aspire for more, whether 70,000 or 200 in attendance!

You might ask how can an artist from Saraland, Al, a virtual unknown city, accomplish so much with having released his first project entitled “First of the Last Born” and later followed it up with two mix c.d.’s entitled “M.O.B. UP Volume I and Volume II?” In order to fully understand you must take a quick listen to one of his number 1 hit singles "BABY BOO"! This song has grabbed the attention of International movers and shakers as well as notables like TJ of TJ’S DJ’S to well known Nick at Nite just to name a few. Rellik is also listed as one of the top Independent Hip Hop Artist in Alabama according to the stats on MySpace, facebook, urban indy, and a host of others.

Rellik has had and continues to have a variety of hot singles that has been blazing the airwaves and ringtones such as: "BOW-BOW", GI Joe, Fly Away, Fizzikle, and Baby Boo, along with his collaboration with Rich Boy “Let’em Go.” Rellik which is Killer spelled backwards will soon be killing the charts !!!

In the distant pop-culture past, say early 2006, pimp was still the kind of shady noun most folks didn't throw around in good company. Pimps, after all, have a nasty image: fierce characters in flashy clothes, squeezing cash from drugged-up hookers who had better cooperate - or else. But in these high-speed times, when language morphs quickly, pimp has experienced a surprising image change, not to mention an idiomatic one. In a matter of months, the word has gone from a kinda bad noun to a sorta good verb. Pimp, it seems, has been pimped. Need more education?
