Bio

In recent years, Philadelphia has set the trend in defining the new sound of soul music that can be heard in the likes of Jill Scott, Bilal, Musiq, Eric Roberson, Glenn Lewis, and Dwele. The depth of neo-soul's lyrics and its stirring grooves has captured audiences of all cultures and social classes. There are four neo/urban soul artists I am working with currently. They are SAFA,
J-Hill, United Soul, and Eric Roberson. Just to give you an idea of the level musicianship, SAFA (WCU education major) was the 2003 winner of the Sunoco It's a Wrap contest which lead to her being featured at the July 4, 2003 Sound of Philadelphia concert. In November 2004 J-Hill along with my band was in concert with John Legend. J-Hill also opened for Gerald Levert at The Mann Music
Center 8-26-05 and toured on the VH1 Soul tour in 2005. United Soul performed at the Jazz Cafe in London with Jaguar Wright in July. Eric Roberson is a major independent recording artist who is world renowned. He writes for major artists such as Jill Scott, 112, and Musiq Soulchild to name a few.
