MISSION
To connect the Heart of God to a longing nation. We will fulfill God’s purpose, plan, and desire to minister restoration, reconciliation, and healing to the total Being through music.

GOAL
The goal of Remnant is to be that extraordinary group of Minstrels and Psalmists that possess the excellence of God; and will convey that attribute by all avenues of media to the masses and abroad.

REMNANT: 1a: A usually small part, member, or trace remaining. b: A small surviving group -- often used in plural.

The definition of Remnant stands true, “...member, or trace remaining.” Indeed this describes the awe-inspiring ministry of Remnant and what they stand for.

Some time ago, Jason and wife Sala Smith (Founders), remembered hearing a message preached by their pastor entitled, And You Dare To Dream Again. “Many have died and have taken their dreams with them,” quoted Pastor Mitchell. It was then, Jason declared within himself that he would not be a victim of dead dreams.

In 2002, after longsuffering, patience, and prayer; a vision was released into the spirits of Jason and Sala. It was to birth a powerful music group of psalmists and minstrels who would offer praise and worship unto God, as well as minister songs of deliverance in spirit and in truth. They shall be called…“Remnant!”

Their Job: To render "Music from the Heart of God to a Nation."

In September 2004, Remnant won 1st Place (Best New Gospel Group) in Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole’s New Artist Showcase. By faith, this is just one of the many announcements of favor Remnant will receive. Since then, Remnant has been ministering throughout Michigan. Not to mention continuous airplay on Radio Stations in Detroit and throughout the Midwest United States. Continue to pray for the ministry of this group; that the Lords’ hand and favor remain upon them.

(Currently, Jason and Sala minister to the Body of Christ as worship leaders at the place they call home: Via Dolorosa Gospel Tabernacle in Detroit, Michigan. Pastors Austin and Cindy Mitchell have been their spiritual covering and support for nearly nine years).
