5 song Ep Entitled "Wasted Life", 2006 WHORTH Records

Out from behind the veil of stagnant and predictable rock music emerges Render, a highly potent and energetic ensemble whose emotional chorus’ and relentless rhythm section flood the ears of each and every listener. The core of the band’s inception can be traced all the way back to 1999 when drummer Brendan Conlin and guitarist Rob Funk began their journey into their emerging music careers. The two founding members honed their skills by covering songs from various bands such as Incubus, Korn, Bush, and Alice in chains. Conlin and Funk went on to form several original bands during these pre-Render years, including Dysfunction, A Bullet Called Life, Dirt (an Alice in Chains cover band), Wet ( A Render prototype), and finally Countervail before ultimately obtaining the remaining members of Render. Throughout this period, a host of original songs were developed into what would later be some of Render’s most powerful material. Funk and Conlin went on to recruit Shane Yarbrough, a veteran vocalist with a set of pipes to be reckoned with. The trio then picked up a bassist to form the quartet known as Wet, who played throughout the Scranton area in the summer and fall of 2003. After Wet parted ways in late winter 2004, the trio which later would embody Render, took a brief hiatus in which time Funk and Conlin continued forward, forming the band Countervail and participating in various side projects, one of which included bass work from soon-to-be Render bassist Blake Foster. Finally in September of 2005, Render had its first official practice, uniting the former members of Wet (Funk, Conlin, and Yarbrough), adding Poughkeepsie NY native Blake Foster to the bassist position. Later on, the recording endeavors of Render’s 5 song EP entitled Wasted Life called for some advanced lead guitar work. For such a task, Jeff King was brought in from Philadelphia to make it happen. Following the June 2006 release of Wasted Life, Render is now five members strong, making each position the height of performance, giving Render the complexity and stature it needed. Now fully staffed, Render invades the listeners ears with aggressive build-ups, melodic chorus’ and most importantly; a cohesive and timeless style that must be both heard and seen.
