Rene King is a talented and unassuming performer from the island of Barbados who began in the music industry as a spoken word artist with the Roots Experience in 1986.
Rene King has a deep love for music and has worked with some the island’s industry musical powerhouses. Until recently, he has looked upon his music as a hobby. However that all changed after he performed at Soca on the Hill at Cropover 2010 when he opened for major soca acts including Destra. It was this experience which encouraged him to take his music seriously.
Cropover 2015, Rene King has released a groovy soca track called Gimme Vibes. The song, which is written and co-produced by Tony Bailey, has been receiving favourable feedback and is receiving regular airplay on local radio stations. It is also receiving interest from international deejays and is available on itunes.com.
