"From Classic Soul to Toe Tappin' Rock- Renee Anderson's First CD "New Releases" Encompasses It All"

January 2,2004...Corpus Christi-ite Renee Anderson has been studying and playing music her entire life and all that time and patience has paid off. Anderson's first album "New Releases", is a unique blend of soft rock, "Texas music" flair, bohemian soul, and classic folk style. This combination of musical genres along with Anderson's pristine vocals sets this album apart from the rest. The official release fo the cd will take place Sat. Jan.17,2004 at 1:30 at Surf Club Records located in Water Street Market. - Sara Hicks (Publicist)

"A Gem of a Songwriter- Local Musician, with debut CD, draws comparisions to Jewel, gets airplay in South Texas"

From her sultry vocals to her blond hair, people who have seen and heard Renee Anderson perform say the local musician bears a striking resemblandce to Jewel." When I started writing and putting music and lyrics together, Jewel was a very big influence," said 33 year-old Anderson. who also sites the early recordings of Bette Midler; Carole King and Lisa Loeb as artists she admired. "As much as people influence me, I want to make my own thumbprint of my own style so they don't say, "There's that girl that sounds like Jewel'". Perhaps the main difference between the two is that Anderson, a 1988 Tuloso Midway High School graduate, doesn't pick up her guitar until the laundry is done, the dishes are wahed and her 4-year-old son Luke is tucked into bed at 8:30pm. Anderson's music brings together a thoughtful blend of Texas-style folk and Bohemian soul that's interwoven with heartfelt lyrics from the songwriter's life. "New Releases", Anderson's debut album, came out in December 2003 and the performer has been playing gigs at coffeehouses and festivals around South Texas. "Let it Go" is currently receiving aifplay three times daily on KBSO/FM 94.7, but owners hope to play more tracks soon. "It's on what we call a 'hot rotation', said Manuel Davila Jr., the station's owner and morning drive personality. "It's a pretty soid number. We're getting a lot of request for it. We react to what people want to her".San Antonio's KRIO/FM 105.9 Has also been playing the song. - Corpus Christi Caller Times
