Biography

“Bottom line: post hardcore has a new leading band” -Lambgoat.com album of the week). From the ashes of Count Me Out, Give Up The Ghost, and Striking Distance, came RENEE HEARTFELT.

Drawing influence from their previous projects, as well as other musical influences such as Qucksand and Failure, RENEE HEARTFELT deliver a sound that could only be described as impressively tight and strong - riding the line between hardcore, post hardcore, and rock.

Singer/guitarist Pete Appleby started what would later become RENEE HEARTFELT as an outlet for solo material. Soon he realized that a band would only enhance the band and the sound he was looking to create. RENEE HEARTFELT draws from their collective exerperiences and past projects to exide poser and emotive quality that far surpasses other artists in their genre.

Lyrics

Mary Magdalene

Written By: Pete Appleby / Renee Heartfelt

Does it suffice to say that you've lost your way? In the morning when you find yourself all alone, could have sworn you brought him home. Like Mary Magdalene have they got you all wrong? I said I'm sorry to see. You can't set yourself free from the things these people want you to be. I know I'm just a no name from the west end of town, but you're just a prettyf ace that likes to go down. Like Mary Magdalene they've got you all wrong I said I'm sorry to see.

The Melodramatic

Written By: Pete Appleby / Renee Heartfelt

It was pictures and politics a lovely time what's wrong with it? I watched myself with you and saw all the things I would put you through. I felt a change in the weather. I always sayd, "Never, ever rely upon solid ground to hold you up when you are coming down." Cause I am the burning, broken, cadence and I'll run you down. Don't turn around, this is my warning to you. I will learn to never say never, ever to a girl that belongs in simple songs of right and wrongs. Cause I am the burning, broken, cadence and I'll run you down. Don't turn around, this is my warning to you. It's the rhythm that wears me out. The burning, broken song I sing myself

La Seine

Written By: Pete Appleby / Renee Heartfelt

We write the roles we play, So forgive nmme when I don't believe anything you say. So goddamn the weight of the hand that holds you down. Abby, goddamn its the weight that everyone carries around. IT's nothing to you, I can see. Pride has always had its way with me. I am lost between fear and drams, the man you want me to be. But I find myself returning endlessly to walking countless miles around my room, to passing countless afternoons. Like a river cuts the earth beneath my feet in two, you can't replace the years I lost to you.
