Bio

A vocalist, composer and songwriter, Renée Landry has had a passion for performing all her life. Influenced by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald to Jay-Z, her vast taste in music reflects her artistry. Growing up in the city of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Renée fell in love with music and writing at a young age. She later began to establish herself as an exceptional young artist, performing at such venues as Loplops Lounge and Bottoms Up, along side local Sault musicians Frank Deresti, Josh Norling, and Keith Conway – just to name a few.

In 2010, Renée made the move to Canada’s capital to pursue her career and education in music. It was at Carleton University that she met her current band mates and friends Clayton Connell, Terence Wright, Timo Miller, and Taylor Harris. Since moving to Ottawa, Renée has performed at Elmdale Tavern, Ottawa Fashion week 2011-2012, Rockland RnB fest, KM Theatre, as well as fundraisers such as “Afro Funk.” With a style described as a sweet combination of blues vocals with saloon style instrumentation (Metro News 2011), Renée is a powerful performer, who proves no artist should be limited to one genre.

Renée Landry is currently recording her first EP of originals & jazz standards with her band, to be released in the new year.
