New kid on the block René Thomas has a sound you'll want to hear!
When first listening to 20-year-old Vancouver singer/songwriter René Thomas, an array of sounds swarms your senses. If you allow the music in, it will entrance you with its hypnotic sound. "It Starts Now" presents Thomas' sexy voice against a background of strong beats that set the mood for any situation. Influenced by Radiohead, Coldplay, and OLP among others, Thomas' honesty about life is obvious through his lyrics. As for his inspirations, "I write about the things that affect me," says Thomas. "This can be anything from what I ate for breakfast to politics and relationships. My views on life, love, etc. are transparent in my songs."
One song that stands out on this limited edition pre-release is "Driftwood," which has a very natural flow to it. Thomas explains that it's "one of those rare songs that writes itself. Some of the most intense realizations in my life have come through conversations with friends and family. "Driftwood" is one of those revealing conversations."
With a diverse album filled with truthful lyrics, it looks like a music career does start now for René Thomas. This is an album that will satisfy your music needs and leave you wanting more.

At only 21 year of age, Singer/Songwriter Rene Thomas has already made significant waves in the Vancouver music scene. In his 11 months of being a solo artist, Rene has drawn attention from some of music's biggest names, such as "The Berman Brothers" (who have produced over 80 Gold and platinum Records), and Universal Europe, (whom he is currently in contract negotiations with).
Taking influence from bands like Coldplay, OLP and Radiohead, Thomas captivates audiences with his soulful lyrics and his rich melodies. Thomas is a breath of fresh air in an industry where musical integrity is often sacrificed for marketability.
