Bio
"Renny J” is one of the premier accomplished bass players of recent years. Because of Renny’s unique bass playing style, he has recorded w/ Parliament, Donna Summer & Toni Braxton, as well as a host of other artists. Renny was raised in the Williamsburg/Bed Stuy section of Brooklyn, NY (Lindsay Park baby!), where he grew up looking for something different in life. Never having tried smoking, drinking or drugs, Renny eventually moved to California to pursue his musical aspirations. Renny subsequently learned to play drums, keyboard & guitar to accompany his bass playing skills.
Renny continued on with his dream to record music and subsequently through years of writing & playing, and with the assistance of world class producer, Dave Waterbury, and his closest friend, Guitarist Tony Chauncey (of w/ Sly & the Family Stone), eventually recorded his debut CD, "Lindsay Park Presents...". Hopefully you'll get the opportunity to enjoy the diversified musical/instrumental taste of Renny J and his partner Jason "Kursewerd" Varner, on their new CD, "Club Play... All Day!", currently available on iTunes. The CD, "Just Play!", is also available on iTunes. Our upcoming joint, "Just Hip R & B!", will be available in 2008. Take care & God bless.
