Bio

Requiem is a five piece band out of Chester County, Pennsylvania. The band originated when founding members Dave Fitzgerald (guitar), Mike Kochansky (guitar), and Jimmy Liberati (drums) began jamming together. About a year later, bassist Matt Lindsey and singer Matt Johnson were recruited into the band, finalizing the lineup. After setting to work on composing all original material, Requiem headed into Clay Creek Recording Studios in Newark, Delaware to record their self-titled demo CD only 6 months after their lineup was finalized. Building upon an earlier fan base of friends who came to the bands practices, Requiem worked to promote the band and book shows in the southern Pennsylvania and Delaware areas.

The music presented by the Pennsylvania group is actually quite difficult to describe. Drawing from a multitude of musical influences, Requiem blends heavy guitar riffs, screaming vocals, and melodic interludes into the perfect balance of beauty and chaos. Fans have compared the sound to bands ranging from Metallica to Hopesfall to 36 Crazyfists, and a number of others.

The intense energy of Requiem's music is personified in their live performances. A lot of bands today dont pay enough attention to stage presence, which is an important factor in putting on a good live show. Requiem fans know that they will leave a Requiem show wanting more, and that is something that the band puts strong emphasis on.

Playing alongside such local acts as Blueprint Tragedy, Forfeit, Decadence, Misanthropy, and Control Freaks, Requiem is looking to breathe new life into the music scene. Requiem has also been featured on 94.1WYSPs Loud and Local music program, as well as various college radio stations.

Requiem will be entering the studio for the first two weeks in July to record their currently untitled full-length album.
