"Band Round-Up"

"Brittany has a sweet voice that sounds almost classically trained with a hint of country songstress in it, and I think gives the band a more polished sound than you might expect from a newish indie group." - The Boston Survival Guide

"Local bands rock Tommy Doyle's"

"The band's energetic power-pop, while clearly driven by Flynn's powerful pipes instrumentally was also quite solid with a strong low-end, groove-laden drumming, and some memorable riffs... Rescue Aurora gave an impressive performance and definitely stood out..." - The Heights at Boston College

"Rescue Aurora - Things We Promised To Keep"

"There is a pervading confidence on Things We Promised to Keep. Guitars jangle, reverberate and roar; the drums are tight and the bass is solid. Dual guitar lines appear everywhere, weaving through a haze of distortion, and vocal harmonies are intricate. Demonstrating such acute musical growth, there's no reason the improvement can't continue with the long player to come."
- The Weekly Dig

"EP Review"

"Cliché as it sounds; the only bad part about this album is that it is not a full length. I would love to hear at least four more songs on this album, because if they are even half as good as the six already on it, I would not be disappointed." - Scenetrash.com

Bio

Rescue Aurora is a dynamic new pop rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Band members Brittany Flynn (vocals), John Boles (guitar/backup vocals), Cooper Heinrichs (guitar/backup vocals), Lauren Baker (bass), and Jesse Hangen (drums) met in the spring of 2008 while studying at Berklee College of Music and Boston College. After playing together for just over a month, the group recorded their first EP with producers Jack and Joe Napoli (Nine Days, Joan Jett). Their merging of emotional lyrics with captivating, intricate guitar riffs should catch the attention of audiences of a variety of genres, from singer/songwriter fans to alternative/pop enthusiasts. This versatility makes Rescue Aurora more than just another female-fronted band; a drive to write music that is simultaneously catchy and intelligent and delivers an instantly memorable sound and an honest interpretation of dealing in love and loss. Their music has already managed to impress a wide audience, as the band was selected to compete in Rolling Stone’s Rockus: The Ultimate Battle of the Bands and won a voting contest to play at the 2009 and 2010 Qdoba Rice and Bean Pot Battle of the Bands at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Their victory lead to an interview and promotional spotlight on Comcast OnDemand.

Among the Boston venues Rescue Aurora has played are: Paradise Rock Club, Tommy Doyle's, Middle East Upstairs, The Lilypad, Church Club, All Asia, and Harpers Ferry

In September 2009 the band recorded the follow up to their first EP with Bryan Russel (Staylight Run, The Academy Is...) which was released on January 1st 2010. In support of the new EP the band completed a week and a half tour where they captivated audiences along the east coast. During the spring 2010 the band is playing shows regionally in the Northeast and is looking to tour for most of the summer and beyond.
