"Norman band has it all"

Resident Funk is a local Oklahoma based band that specializes in funk-rock. Comprised of Chris Davis(vocals, percussion), Tom Young(drums), Dallas Mercer(bass, vocals), Blake Lennon(guitar), and Steve Baker(sax), The Funk is best seen live as they put on an incredibly energetic show. Whether they are playing tasty originals or amazing covers of Tom Petty, Rage Against the Machine or Young MC, they are a hit everywhere they go.

Starving Dogs Productions have worked with Resident Funk, filming their concerts as well as behind the scene footage of them recording their soon to be released new album.

Resident Funk has also agreed to perform live in the upcoming Stephen King adaptation "I Know What You Need," as they will be playing one of their new songs. - StarvingDogs.biz

Bio

A decade into their musical journey and Resident Funk is still going strong. Their music embraces an eclectic lineage of rock and funk, mixed with elements of jazz and reggae. They have played with a wide array of musicians from many genres, such as Ben Folds, Peter Frampton, Dashboard Confessional, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Ben Kweller, and Kansas. The years of experience have added all kinds of new influences to the band's style and matured their talents. Audiences agree, Resident Funk's sound has a lyrical depth and melodic breadth that is captivating, and fans have been filling shows for ten years to take part in the experience. 2009 is no exception. Resident Funk will release their sophomore album, entitled 'Standing'. Tracks such as "Learning" and "Standing" are proof that the band has set the bar higher and has met their musical goal. The band plans to tour the region in Summer '09 to introduce their unique sound to a wider demographic. Undoubtedly this will bring more fans to the Resident Funk family that is ten years strong and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The new album is available on itunes.
