"Resonance - Resonance EP"

Real rock n roll is back in action!!!! Resonance is a rock band from Denver that just released a self titled 6-track EP on 11/11/11. The first thing that I noticed right off the bat with this EP is the rawness of it. Not a whole lot of production or engineering put into the recording of this and I think it was a smart move. It almost feels like listening to a live recording of an album so I’m able to hear what they would sound like at a show and that’s a HUGE element to add to your music. It has been hard to find my favorite track on this because there are a lot of great qualities about them but I think it is a tie because the softer track “Pretender” and and the guitar work in “Welcome To The End”. It’s pretty easy to see why they won the battle of the bands at Summit Music Hall August 2011. I am very excited to hear what these guys are going to come up with in the future and I hope you all also enjoy this EP like I did. You can pick it up from the band for $5.

"Resonance - Something Better, Something New"

Hard-rockers Resonance have demonstrated what hard work and dedication, in addition to talent, can do for a band on their debut full-length Something Better, Something New. They kick the album off melodically with “The Stare,” the perfect example of the smooth vocals, heavy double-kick drums and driving guitar sound that the band is becoming known for.

What the band does best on the record is mix the heavy rhythms that are prominent in hard rock with intricately melodic and harmonious guitar work that makes the songs not only easy to listen to, but nearly impossible to not nod your head to. While the songs can be a bit lengthy, they fill them well and make them easy to listen to, completed with emotional lyrics that reflect, as all good music does, the life of the artist who created them. - Colorado Music Buzz

Resonance was founded in June of 2011 out of Denver, Colorado. As a hard rock band, it was lead singer Danny Pappas' goal to translate the powerful emotions of everyday life into lyrics, melodies, and songs that people could relate to. What started as a vision and a few posts on craigslist would quickly form the original lineup of the group. The rhythm section, consisting of Jason Dorwart on bass, Brian Clark on drums, and Luke Anderson on guitar, lay down a solid, tight, foundation for lead guitarist, Calvin Cohee, to perform his fret board acrobatics, that while always tasteful, will leave crowds in awe

Constantly compared to heavy-hitters such as Chevelle, Tool, 10 Years, and Staind, Resonance has a unique take on the Hard Rock genre that is catching attention around Colorado. This dedication to their music has resulted in several demos, their self produced full-length album “Something Better, Something New”, and the recently released EP "Solitude". The band has also received radio airplay and interviews (Denver’s 106.7 FM KBPI, Colorado Springs’ 94.3 KILO), and opened for renowned national acts such as Trapt, Saving Abel, Jackyl, and Smile Empty Soul.

Keep your eyes and ears open for Resonance! You won’t want to miss what comes next!
