Bio

Respect Sunday started April 2007, they quickly found their taste in music and were quite enthused for playing live. Their sound is influenced by alternative rock bands such as Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age and The Horrors. They have impressed audiences all over the east coast with their powerful, unique blend of alternate rock, garage and funk compositions.

Over the last 6 years, high points for the band have included:
• Earning a spot in Tuncurry's summer music festival Commotion by the Ocean in 2008, 2009 and 2010
• In April 2008, Respect Sunday secured a spot at Youth Rock 2008, a state-wide competition open to all secondary school students in NSW.
• The highlight of 2008 was their support gig for the well-known Australian band The Black Sorrows.
• The band was handpicked by a well-known Australian band, Kisschasy, to support them at their gig in Forster in January 2009 by entering a competition run by the local radio station.
• 2009 saw the band consolidate their own style, continuing to play live gigs around the Mid North Coast and New England regions playing a fantastic set of originals to an ever widening fan base.
• Winning Battle of the bands 2009 at Old Bar Beach Festival
• 2010 they worked with a music producer from Byron Bay where they recorded their first self-titled EP, releasing and promoting it at live gigs and online.
• 2011 the band had a 10month hiatus and then came back at music festival ‘Glow in the Park’, and begun writing and recording their second EP titled ‘Scraps’
• 2012 The band has re-located to the Gold Coast region to release ‘Scraps’.
