Rest Among Ruins

With an intense sound that punishes unmercifully, yet rewards with captivating harmony, the quintet known as Rest Among Ruins bestows a rich, encompassing style to the Baltimore music scene. Rest Among Ruins is comprised of vocalist/songwriter, Mike Semesky; lead guitarist, Henry Kaldre; rhythm guitarist, Sean Conner; bass guitarist/jazzhands, Jason GP; and drummer Geoff Palmer. The unique style, most easily defined as an aggressive, metal/alternative sound, is an evolving product of diverse musical influences. It is most clearly reminiscent of such bands as Mudvayne and Killswitch Engage on the heavier end of the relative spectrum, as well as CKY and Breaking Benjamin on the more alternative end.
The Depths of the Past EP was recorded in 2008 and includes seven of their most definitive songs to date. Ranging from their most brutal to most melodic material, the four tracks, which make up the Rest Among Ruins EP, give listeners a glimpse of what the band has to offer in regard to their song composition and style, but does not prepare listeners for the energy of their live show. Their shocking stage presence and gripping crowd interaction is the absolute core of Rest Among Ruins's enticing live aura.
