Adopted Son

Written By: Jeff Guenther

Adopted Son

Vs 1a:
Adopted son, the only one
Where I come / he comes from, is just a mystery
Where two or three, more on the family tree
To see, some family history.

Vs b:
The start of the line is so hard to define
Where it came from or where it’s going
No names to call out, no reason to shout
No where to run, run to them or to you

Ch 1:
Oh mother, oh father, oh sister, oh brother
Cross the street, cross the sea, can you hear me,
The adopted son.

Vs 2a:
I moved far away, to a land full of strangers
Find my own room, sleep in my own manger
Some came in close, some kept a safe distance
No matter what, we all meet (with) resistance

Vs2b:
The start of my path was never a straight line
There’s ups and there’s downs, I fall when I’m flying
I ask for directions, I look on the radar
There is no highway, just stairs in a tower

Ch 2:
Oh mother, oh father, oh sister, oh brother
Can you call from wherever, reverse the charges
I look to see, to hear, to feel
Someone or something that can explain
This adopted son.

Br:
After some time, through tears and through cheers
Something makes sense, as I go through the years
I find my mission, my passion, my purpose
And can see now that I never was
An Adopted son...

Shy No More

Written By: Jeff Guenther

Shy No More

Vs 1a:
Well, my feet were once my best friends,
(I) couldn’t look you in the eye.
Around a girl or a grownup,
I acted real shy

Vs 1b:
My bedroom was my hangout,
My drum set and guitar
My stereo was the voices,
The landscape of my life

Ch 1:
I ain’t shy no more, I got out of that door
I look you in the eye, just ain’t shy no more

Vs 2a:
(Well,) I played in bands with neighbors,
Beach Boys, Beatles too
I stood back in a corner,
No microphone in view

Vs2b:
I played like Jimi Hendrix,
Guitar behind my head
That show went out the front door,
(I) believed what critics said

Ch 2:
Well, I ain’t shy no more,
I’ll run around the dance hall floor
I can sing while I play my guitar,
I ain’t shy no more

Br:
There are things we got to go through,
You can call them fears
They can make you stronger,
If you stay in forward gear

If you let them hold you back,
Don’t try to blame it on fate
Go and be the master,
Only your grave makes it too late
(Don’t be too late)

Solo on Ch

Vs 3:
You got to lift your eyes from the floor,
Look up towards the sky
When you follow passion,
Who knows how high you’ll fly…

Ch 3:
Don’t be shy no more,
Follow your dreams on out the door,
See people for who they are (could be),
Don’t be shy no more…

Big Blues

BIG BLUES
(Dm Blues)

Vs 1:
My baby left New Hope,
Been too long since I seen his face
If he don’t come back to me soon,
Gonna fall into a sad disgrace…you know…
You got me down and out
Since the day you walked out my door.

Vs 2:
I think I hear his Harley,
But it’s just the thunder over the hills
I swear he’s calling my name,
But it’s just a song they’re playing at J&P’s
My tears, they’re flowing into the Delaware,
And if he don’t come back soon,
I’ll be going down stream too…and it sounds like this…

SOLO SECTION

Vs 3:
Can’t you hear me calling, calling, calling your name,
Since you’ve been gone, things ain’t been the same
My baby left New Hope…(and it’s)
Been too long since I seen his face
If you don’t come back me soon,
It’ll be a low down and dirty disgrace…
