Tom Robinson of BBC6 Music says "Retrogramme are American e-friends of mine who just released a self-financed 10-track album of pounding beats and soulful synths... electronica with a heart"! - BBC - 6Music
Brilliant in all ways! A mixture of culture and genre influences from our past. Truly: an Ominiverse of sound for your thoughts and pleasure. In lay-man terms: EFFIN' SICK!

Voxana, the host of Sony’s Acidplanet Waveform podcast includes “Blood As A Notion” in Waveform podcast #41, calling it “one of their many high energy, solidly produced songs”. The podcast can be found at http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?podcast=2014|2&t=7374 - Sony AcidPlanet
This is a five track CDEP with a perfect combination of dark electronic industrial and two tracks of dark new wave songs with vocals (Dima Pavlovsky and Urvashi Chandani). This fits into a gothic realm with the dark tones but the true gems on this release are Shocker, The Dead End, and Black Magic. Retrogramme are smart, talented, and really know how to create an electronic aural sense of foreboding in a five track CD. Looking forward to more from this band. Retrogramme are Nikk Allen and Rob Early (with guest vocalists) Retrogramme – Season of Scars on Octofoil Record. Hear samples: CDEP from Retrogramme titled "Season of Scars" A few tracks are something like the Dogon band on our gothic ambient page. Hailing from Washington this duo released their debut-album “Retrogramme” in 2008. This EP is my introduction to their sound and the least I can say is that I’ve been totally conquered! Defining the style of the project is quite difficult as they’re mixing different influences and elements with each other. While trying to explain what this band is all about, I definitely have to start by saying it’s 100% electronic like. The writing sounds quite elaborated while the influences are moving in between techno, dub and even a flavor of psychedelic. Merging all these influence together sounds like the perfect sound hybrid for a great release. The very last song entitled “Black Magic” is definitely like the apotheosis of this work. Somewhere in between dub, trance and psychedelic electronics this song is worth a listen! The complexity in writing is emerging from the “ Season Of Scars”-song where some lazy, sensual male vocals are quite noticeable as well. Every single element from this production is well-crafted. I also like the more dubby style heard on “The Dead End”, which is another noticeable song from this EP. Retrogramme is a cool surprise and I hope to hear more releases from this band in the future!
