Retrön is a band with a weird past.
Formed in 2004 as a videogame/Videoperformance piece and finally emerging in 2009 as a full blown band with a rock album
Retrön draws it's influences from a wide spectrum of inflences and has been compared to the likes of Thin Lizzy, Jean-Michel Jarre, Zombi, Anamanaguchi, Big Business and The Fucking Champs amongst others.
Retrön have played at metal festivals and in indie wankfests alike and their current album falls somewhere in between the two.
They mix quirky 8-bit synth parts with soaring twin lead guitars and weird rythm structures in an old-school, yet progressive mix.
Their album Swordplay & Guitarslay has appeared in critic's charts of the best Icelandic albums of 2009.
