Reuben Hollebon

Reuben Hollebon

 Norwich, England, GBR

It is no surprise that Reuben Hollebon comes from a small town near the bleak and beautiful Norfolk coast – because his music contains exactly those qualities. The songs of the Norwich born musician are intense and uncompromising favouring intimacy over grandeur. Influenced by Elliot Smith, Godspeed You Black Emperor and John Martyn, Reuben learnt to craft his own particular style of music performing a song a week in a small West Yorkshire venue. Tracks such as Seven and Home bear testament to an apparent obsession with a changing landscape on the edge of an island country, whilst themes of those nearby and a certain British ambiguity with it all stay close throughout. Reuben now resides in London having recently returned from a makeshift European tour having played shows from Slovakia to Sweden with plans to tour there again in 2013 alongside more dates in the UK and Ireland
