"Torrey is a welcome addition to Portland's acoustic blues-folk scene, where traditionalists like Samuel James and Micah Blue Smalldone rub shoulders with more modern-minded singer-songwriters like Steven Williams. As he soaks up inspiration and influence from these local sources, we can all look forward to hearing the results." - The Bollard
"Reuben Torrey...has some great blues guitar chops...Last week, he announced the release of his first CD...I immediately bought one and can recommend it to everyone. It's a very nicely produced, well-performed, six-song EP..." - Bob McKillop for The Free Street Acoustic Open Mic Newsletter
"With one successful record and a number of local shows under his belt, Torrey is quickly making a name for himself in the local scene..." - Performer Magazine

Bio
Reuben Torrey grew up obsessed with raw, passionate, soulful music. Drawing on influences from multiple genres (U2 to B.B. King to Jeff Buckley to Bonnie Rait) the 27-year-old has built up a repertoire of high-energy roots-inspired original songs and uniquely arranged blues covers.
He recently moved to Portland, Maine with his wife and son, and is steadily making a name for himself in the local roots scene as a solo acoustic blues rock performer.
