Réveillons!

"Réveillons!" is, in French, the present imperative form of the verb "to awaken". Wake up!. It is a clear and precise embodiment of the message the band seeks to convey. Indeed, since it was founded in 1996, Réveillons! has been on a mission to reawaken the traditions and culture that lie dormant within each of us. Réveillons! present a fin music for listening, dancing, singing and playing from Québec. The band offers reels, jigs, french songs, step dancing and dances to keep you moving through both the day and the nigt.

Richard Forest has been fiddling for over thirty years, and has composed over forty tunes which are very popular among the top performers of the genre.

Jean-François Berthiaume has set is feet tapping and is bodran drumming from his natif Quebec to western Canada, United-States and in Europe. While specialising intraditional Quebecois dances, he had studied broad range of styles.

Having been immersed in folk songs since childhood, the French canadian's traditions flow through his veins. The voices and spirit of the ''old folk'' and the purest contact with tradition are what David Berthiaume is about.

His studies formal and informal, span the areas of classical, jazz, blues, country. This diversity of musical and releated cultural insight inform's Marc Maziade approach to performance, arranging and composition. Has graduated from Jazz Studies program of Concordia University of Montreal.

The quartet, based in Montreal, has performed at major festivals in Québec as well as various metropolitan bars, where like in the olden days, the rhythms of traditional music breathe life into evenigns of dancing and rejoicing.
