"Arlington Celebrates War Hero Through Rock"

... While this event helped raise donations for the planned memorial, it also showcased an emerging new band - Revel at Midnight. The band plays a unique blend of rock, influenced by such acts as Phish and Neil Young and Crazy Horse. Revel at Midnight owes its originality to the lyricism employed in the band's songwriting. All lyric writing is a form of poety. "Unlike many other bands, our group writes in tercets and sestets." These are different types of stanzas that are more complex in style and presentation.

Another trait of the group is the equal billing each member receives. Todd Broomhead, the drummer, and Rob Snyder, the bassist, have an equal share of solos and time under the spotlight. Many bands today rely on one dominant talent to create their sound. Equal sharing of musicianship in Revel at Midnight adds polish to their sound without sacrificing the special character the group strives to create. While the group has only been together for one year, they have grand plans for the future. The act has already released one full-lenth album, "Twlilight Highway" and plans to record another in the fall. The group expects to tour this spring and summer.

Overall, the concert was a huge success and benefited a great cause in the Arlington community. Revel at Midnight is a local band with an interesting sound and original flair. - Poughkeepsie Journal 3/3/07

Bio

We describe Revel at Midnight as a poly rock band (pretty sure we coined this phrase). Basically, we are a jam band... but because of our diverse, individual influences, we all bring something unique to the table. Todd (drums) is a jazz aficianado. Rob (bass) is into "prog" rock, ska, blues, and electronic music. I (Hi, I'm Dan - guitars/vocals) am into folk music, bluegrass, and yes, jam bands. Our songs range in style drawing on all of our influences. I believe our strongest attribute is our songwriting. Songs come first for us... then the jams. Our lyrics matter, too. So, when I sing, I want all the words to be heard. We've been a band for over a year now and have enjoyed local success... but we desire more! We are looking to network with others in the industry and get our music out there.
