Bio

Very seldom does a band emerge with such emotion, dedication, and
hunger to make larger than life sounds. All too often we find ourselves
caught up in the whirlpool of sing along choruses and snap your fingers
melodies that, in short, impress the money hungry and disappoint the
true music lover. Throughout the past years, there have been so few to
stand up to this musical "dumbing down" and aural injustice.

fueled by contempt for the scene and disgust for most of the music
generated therein, Revenant emerged in the winter of 2003-2004 from the
small Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Az. Their current line up consists of
the same four who started the band, a rarity in the Phoenix metal scene
or elsewhere for that matter. Brothers Chris(vocals) and DJ(guitars)
Foley have been collaborating musically since they could barely even
pick up an instrument. Throughout numerous bands and projects, the two
finally came together again after a short absence while DJ was recording
demos for the band Drastic which included Chris, as well as bass player
Alan Jarrell and drummer David Roose. Upon the separation of Drastic,
something far more than any of them could imagine was about to rise from
the ashes.

Within their first year, Revenant had written enough material to
begin recording a full length album and played shows with the likes of
Exodus and DRI. Things were looking up for the band. However, being a
group more about quality than quantity, they decided to put their first
record on the back burner. The lengthy recording process couldn't keep
up with Revenant's ever evolving sound. The album remains in limbo due
to it being sub-par by the band's standards. Despite this and many
other discouraging setbacks, Revenant continued to press on playing
more/bigger shows opening for acts such as Sepultura, The Acacia Strain,
Goatwhore, as well as good friends As Blood Runs Black and The Final
Burden to name a few while writing some of their proudest work to date.

Revenant have payed their dues and learned from their mistakes.
They continue to be one of Arizona's best kept secrets and remain very
DYI in nature. Refusing to fall into the cesspool of cookie-cutter
metal bands, in March of 2007 they plan to unleash their debut album
"Retrieving Honor And Hatred" on B.O.A.T.S. (Based On A True Story)
Records; a record label created by Chris and DJ. The album's sound can
easily be described as a summer in their native Arizona; brutal, angry,
and unrelenting. Revenant is not trying to be the best metal band, the
heaviest, the most technical, or even the most interesting, mind you.
They are simply making music they feel proud of. This is not a way for
them to make a living...it's the only way they know how to live.
