Bio
The Reverb Brothers started out as a duo and has grown two include 6 members, although we can downsize to a trio or quartet depending on the circumstances. Claes Almroth and Doug Marx provide lead vocals and front the band. Claes plays keyboards and harmonica and Doug plays acoustic guitar. Dave "Gutbucket" Duffield, a disciple of The legendary Memphis Horns, plays Cornet and provides a defining quality to our sound. Allan Lemley plays lead (electric) guitar, J. Michael Kearsey is on bass and Fred Ingram plays drums.
Part of what gives The Reverb Brothers their 1930's sound is the use of group improvisation, though the much of the material is more modern or original. The music is very high energy, fun and well suited to dancing.
The Reverb Brothers have maintained residencies in two Portland clubs for years (The White Eagle and The Muddy Rudder) as well as playing other clubs, festivals (Waterfront Blues Festival, Portland Marathon), weddings and corporate events.
