Reverend Tall Tree

There's something that immediately hits you when you hear this band of brothers perform. You get the sense that you've just step into a blues revival where it's ok to dance, shout and sing along if you know the words to their songs. Headed by front man, Chris Pierce (Reverend Tall Tree), who has a successful solo career in his own right, they are a tight knit group that produces a big sound with sparse instrumentation. Reverend Tall Tree at No Vacancy. Hollywood, CA. 2/5/14

I woke up in the morning with my head in my hands. My heart was broken, my soul had taken a midnight train to the city of darkness. The brandy bottle and the deck of cards called out to me but offered no solace.

I wandered the day through, over a dusty trail until I came upon a fellow named Fancy Jim Featherwing, standing at the bottom of the stairs. He said, ʺCome inside we do surely have the medicine you'ʹre looking for. We have that sweet elixir that only the Reverend Tall Tree can administer!ʺ

Yeah, I went up the stairs there to that No Vacancy Bar. And my heart was healed. Later that night my soul called from the coast (collect, as usual) and asked if she could come home.

Yeah, that'ʹs medicine. Take it if you need it brothers and sisters. And believe me-­‐‑-­‐‑ you need it.

Now sit up straight and tell somebody you found a new way forward.
