Bio
Sisters, Veronica and Carleen, are an inspirational duo whose quest is to revive the souls of their listeners. Their musical influences are many, and include Aretha Franklin, Clark Sisters, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Chalka Khan, The Winans, and many more.
The ladies began singing together at a very young age in a trio named “The New Revivals” at the encouragement and under the management of their father. When they entered high school, the group disbanded and the girls continued to sing as a duo. However, after experiencing the loss of their grandmother, the Rev. I.A. Broomfield who was a major influence in their life, they left their first love – music – and committed themselves to developing others and pursuing their academic studies. It was not until their final year in University that they were discovered by their manager, Kevin Patterson, who encouraged the ladies to awaken their latent passion. Revived, the name of this duo reflects their re-awakening. And the rest is history in the making.
Blending the new with the old, their music can be categorized as sophisticated soul. Their brand of music speaks of real life situations that will enhance one's spiritual journey. Their harmonies, soulful voices, and lyrical content bring you back to a time when music was more than just a melody. Thus far, they have collaborated with artists such as Ray Robinson, Kid Kut, Sean Simmonds, and has shared the stage with Coko, Carvin Winans, Salt N Pepa, Faith Evans, Jon B., Jaheim, Shabba Ranks, and MC Lyte.
Their highly anticipated self titled album will be available March 24th 2009.
