"Rev. Trxx"

"On a planet where music is being mass produced to imitate the flavors of a lazy common denominator, it is rare to find an artist who looks inside himself for anything. Rev. Trxx is one of the exceptions.

I've known Rev. his whole life and have always been amazed at the clarity of his musical vision. His music is raw and sincere, melding the disparate influences inundating us today into a personal uncontrived style - very rare. Maybe there is hope for the future."

Bio

REV. TRXX is an mcee/producer from a small town in western MA. called Great Barrington, otherwise known as "GB". "GB" a rural vacation spot minutes from "Tanglewoord", is not the first place you'd expect to find raw hip hop being created. Hip hop, however, can be from anywhere as long as you have the skillz and the ingenuity that REV does. For years now he has been doin his thing, puttin it down with taste, and true to life rhymes; that no matter where you're from, you can relate to.

Based now in Boston, Rev. intergrates influences from the past two years of his life living in the Bay Area, CA. with his East Coast roots. In June of 2006 Rev. released his first CD "all that you need."., under his own production label ILLADELIC NOYZ. This full length record was produced almost entirely by REV. TRXX, with the exception of two sensational tracks from fellow producer THE ARCITYPE out of Boston. It is a blend of rugged East Coast beats, hypnotizing melodies and innovative vocal styles that explore atypical and insightful content often not approached by other mcees.

Rev's early musical root's found him as a rhythem & blues artist, not yet the mcee he is today. At sixteen he recorded his first rhythem & blues Demo with his longtime friend/mentor John Medeski of Medeski, Martin & Wood. During these sessions Rev. was introduced to a key person in the shaping of his musical future, Scott Harding. Harding, a producer and engineer for such artists as Wu Tang Clan, Gravediggaz, Big Pun, Prince Paul as well as a few others helped to change a once guitar slingin' blues singer into the hip hop mcee/producer we now call REV. TRXX.

Over the years Rev. honed his skills working as a solo hip hop artist. In 2004 he formed KNOBLE GASSES with mcees Dominik Omega and Merc Love who are featured on his CD and who he still performs with on a regular basis. The music of REV. TRXX and Knoble Gasses has been described as refreshing because of its ability to twist lyrics and beats you're used to into poignant and inventive joints you'd never expect.

Likened to Terror Squad, NaS, Mobb Deep, Jadakiss and other black mcee's Rev. finds that he often surprises people when they learn that he a white guy from rural Massachusetts. Rev however feels no need to emulate the stylings of successful white rappers such as Eminem and Atmosphere as many do. Instead he lyrically challenges underground hip hop while using beats that have enough mainstream appeal to make him the next big thing.
