Rewake is a 4 piece multi-genre musical onslaught based in Tulsa, Ok. Since the it’s inception in 2000 the band has released 3 CD’s, packed clubs across the country and played with a veritable “who’s who” of like-minded groups from all over the nation.

In 2000 the band formed and immediately released ‘Foreign’ a live, 6-song E.P. that quickly sold hundreds of copies locally and nationally online and at shows that spanned the state of Oklahoma where the band gained a reputation for a wildly experimental live shows featuring improv and extended versions of their songs. ‘Foreign’ was nominated for Best Local Album in the 2000 Tulsa World Spot Music Awards and the band picked up their first Spot Music Award in the “Best None of The Above” category.

In 2001 the first studio album ‘Air Bubbles’ was released locally in Tulsa, OK to a crowd that broke the venue’s attendance record and unbeknownst to the band was almost was shut down to a near violation of fire code restrictions with a line still wrapped around the building. Air Bubbles was nominated for Best Local Album in the 2001 Spot Music Awards and the band picked up their second Spot Music Award in the “Best None of The Above” category.

Between 2001 and 2003 the band supported ‘Air Bubbles’ with extensive regional touring in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri and Kansas before signing a national booking deal and traveling all over the region chalking up a showcase at Austin’s South By Southwest Conference, a tour through Colorado and appearances with Drums and Tuba, The Motet, Charlie Hunter, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Leftover Salmon among others.

A live version of ‘Air Bubbles’ was released at South by Southwest in 2002 as the band picked up their third consecutive Spot Music Award in the “Best None of The Above” category and drew over 2000 in attendance to their set at Mayfest. Since 2000 the band has independently sold thousands of CD’s nationwide without commercial radio airplay.

In 2004 the band picked up their 4th consecutive Spot Music Award for “Best None of The Above” before taking some time to rest and write new music. Band members played and traveled with side projects for much of the year before reassembling to write the next record and prepare the next steps.
