Charlie and Chris have that brother thing going, and they are both very tall, like 6'5". They made a nice backdrop for Brittany Spears when they were her backup band in her movie debut, Crossroads. Really. But there music isn't anything like hers. Rex Aquarium was formed in 2002. Influenced by Sonic Youth, Pixies, Neil Young, Kenny Rankin and Dinosaur Jr. They've recorded two albums, various singles and have toured the U.S. in a van.
Downloads of their music video for "Alicia" have surpassed 10,000 downloads, thanks to Elle magazine's link to the video on their website. "Alicia" was named one of the "Top Ten Songs for Summer" in 2004. They are favorites of Indie 103 in LA and have performed live on the station, and various college stations.
Their songs are true stories of desparate longing. Eager beavers and boneheads looking for that "special someone" - only to blow it prematurely by using the "L" word . The authenticity of the performance of these songs is what sets Rex Aquarium apart from the herd.
