There are a lot of talented female vocalists out there right now and the range is wide, from dark and moody Cat Power to the three happy hippie chicks of Au Revoir Simone, not to mention all the young hopefuls waiting to jump on the wagon. But Reyna is not just another cute girl with a pretty voice. An experienced songwriter and musician with a voice as clear as a bell, she is both dark and light (just watch for her infectious smile during the chorus in the music video), and, of course, it doesn’t hurt that she’s got style. - Sundance Channel (SUNfiltered)
Ari Kuschnir of m ss ng p eces has co-directed what I am fairly certain is the first "pro" music video shot entirely on the new iphone 3GS: "Love Love Love," by Reyna Perez. My capsule review: I love love love. About the artist, and the making of - Boing Boing
Ever heard of Reyna Perez? If not, you can amaze your muso mates with this great little bit of gadget magic.

Bio
Reyna was born in Miami, FL in the golden year of 1983, the descendant of Jewish Cuban settlers who founded Cuba's first day school. As would any child with an illustrious path, she developed a passion for musicals, and a mild obsession for Barbara Streisand.
At age 6, she re-recorded the entire Wizard of Oz on her family's VHS camcorder, performing each role, singing each song, and speaking for each character (video is available upon request). At age 11 she learned piano and guitar, performing regularly at family dinners and family events. At age 16, she dated a young man with conservative views who put down her talent for song and dance. He told her to "get real", which she eventually does, when she picks up the guitar again at age 23. Within weeks she writes 10 songs.
Reyna now lives in sunny Brooklyn, NY where she continues to write music and work on her sound.
