"New Tricks New Pride of Austin"

“The new pride of Austin, Texas, the Rhythm Dawgs, are resurrecting the spirit of the Arc Angels on their second CD, New Tricks.

There are lots of big riffed rhythm guitars, scorching slide guitars and down and dirty lyrics. Hell, Shut Up and Drink should be the national anthem for anybody sick of the Cliff Claven loudmouth of your local watering hole. Business of Life combines sweet arpeggios with big riffs and both Anna Marie and So Lonely have such singalong choruses, they should be illegal.

Their version of TheThrill Is Gone leaves the listener begging for more.” - Richard Amery, Kenora Daily Miner and News

Bio

"If we had known this band was going to be around this long, we would have played better songs."

-The Rhythm Dawgs (with apologies to Joe Walsh).

That quote is very much tongue-in-cheek, because when The Rhythm Dawgs started toward the end of the 1990's, nobody had any idea we would be together two decades later. So in that respect, the songs must have been good enough.

From their humble beginnings of open mic nights and friends jamming in the garage, the Dawgs developed into something different from most of the other acts on the Texas club circuit...they developed into a show!  Not content with showing up with the bare minimum and going through the motions, the Rhythm Dawgs work to bring a "concert" experience to every show that they play.

Another thing that sets The Rhythm Dawgs apart from other bands is their song selection and execution. Sure, you'll hear the club standards, but with a fresh treatment. You'll also hear some of the deeper tracks from well known artists...the songs that the FM rock stations were playing as you were out on the town in your high school and college days.  "AC/DC to ZZ Top with some Johnny Cash thrown in the middle" is how the band describes their playlist.

The Rhythm Dawgs travel completely self contained with state of the art audio, LED lighting, and a professional "get it done" attitude.

If you're looking for a slick, upscale, polished production...then this isn't the band for you. But if you're in the market for a band made up of four ordinary guys who just happen to be some extraordinary musicians, then call the Dawgs.
