Bio

Started in 2007 as originally a four-piece, skate punk band; Rhythm Fiend has since evolved their sound to that of a fusion band. Merging together sounds from their favourite genres the now three-piece is working on new material.

Formed in the basement of Kyle Charron's parents house, Beer League Kennedy spawned as a four-piece skate punk band with members Kyle Charron, Brandon Reid, Chris Ambrus and Ally Sweetzer. Shortly after the formation the band dropped original lead vocalist Ambrus and changed their name to Rhythm Fiend. Originally sticking strictly to punk with thrash influences, RF wrote and recorded a 6 song EP called the "Homegrown EP". The band continued writing and playing shows all around the GTA until mid 2008. Near the end of 2007 the band started forming their sound into a heavier style with more technical guitar and bass, and faster drums. The product of this new style brought forward the more popular four song EP "No Need To Panic" which was sold at shows and available for free download over myspace. Along with the four songs on the EP, Rhythm Fiend had roughly another 5 new songs plus the original 6 and covers leaving them with quite an extensive catalog of music.

2009 the band continued playing shows and writing new material but movement was slowly halting all the way into 2010. RF recorded four new songs to give audiences a preview of what was to be expected for 2010. Blast forward to now, original drummer Sweetzer jumped ships (with no bad blood) to a new band called Paramount and the Fiend found a new drummer named Chris West. As of August 2010 the band continues to write all new material as they have pulled a 360 on their sound and prepared to hit the studio and start playing shows come September.
