Lyrics

A Good Friend Like You

Written By: Richard Alan

I have a heart, it aches for you,
It wants to run away,
but it stays for you,
Like the wind and the rain
Pounding at the window,
The beating of my heart
feels like a storm.

In your eyes,
I see my reflection,
In Love like never before,
When you're near me,
I feel there's still a chance for Love,
with A Good Friend Like You,
A Good Friend Like You.

Yes, I have a heart, it aches for you,
It wants to be so strong,
but, it breaks for you,
Like the colors of the rainbow,
Promising a new life,
when I look in your eyes, I see you in my arms.

In your eyes,
I see my reflection,
In Love like never before,
When you're near me
I feel there's still a chance for Love
with A Good Friend Like You,
A Good Friend Like You

Old Loves have all burned out
From the fires of my past,
Now you know me inside out,
So maybe this time,
This Love will Last.

Repeat chorus:

Carry Me Home

Written By: Richard Alan

It's the way you've always been so Loving,
In the times I've left you on that Cross,
Piercing your side with the sword of my pride,
Crowned with thorns you reigned alone,
Still you forgive, allowing to live,
this wretched soul that mocks your throne.

Lord, only you can save me,
From the strife of this sinful life I live.
Don't tarry long, I'm not that strong,
and there's evil all within.
I can't right what's wrong, but I'll sing you your songs,
to please you, If I can.
Jesus come again and Carry Me Home.

Of this world, my dreams have slowly crumbled.
All my pride, I give it up for lost,
But, deep in my soul, the promise I hold of a day when I shall rest
In the heart of my God, the warmth of His Son, in the Love of the very best.

Lord, only you can save me
From the strife of this sinful life I live.
Don't tarry long, I'm not that strong and there's evil all within.
I can't right what's wrong, but I'll sing you your songs,
to please you, if I can.
Jesus come again and Carry Me Home ... Carry me home ...
Repeat and fade.

Thinkin' Of You

Written By: Richard Alan

Thinkin' of you just happens somehow,
I know, I thought I'd be over us by now,
But, you've stayed on my mind
All of this time.
Heart of my Heart, Soul of my Soul,
My dream forever, to have and to hold,
You left me, sweet memories
That never grow old.

If I could turn back the hands of time,
To the sweet days of you and I,
This time I know I would Love you so much better,
All that lies between us is this lonely road,
I could be standin' on your doorstep before you know,
Oh no, here I go again,
Thinkin' Of You,
A little more than I want to.

We had the fire, right from the start,
Wild and carefree, just raging
through our hearts,
Now deep inside of mine,
A few burning embers still lie,
See, I like to believe that you're still in love with me,
It helps me hold on to my impossible dream,
You're wrapped up in my arms
And we're just keepin' our hearts warm.

So Long Past The Leavin'

Written By: Richard Alan

Memories still flowin, All through my mind,
I guess I'll always love you, you're just my kind,
Free and so easy, like this breeze
that softly surrounds me,
Your still here all around me,
So Long Past The Leavin'

A walk in in the sunshine,
just before the rain,
That paradise of ours will never be the same,
The clouds in the sky share the many times I cry for you,
Your till here all around me,
So Long Past The Leavin'

Every where I turn to,
In everything I do,
I find there's no escape,
I'm still in love,
With loving you.

Seasons change,
These feelings still remain,
Like the love that we've shared Through pleasure and pain,
Now the wine and the whispers,
The laughter and tears,
They won't leave me alone,
Your still here all around me,
You so softly surround me,
Still here all around me,
So Long Past The Leavin'

Springtime

Written By: Richard Alan

Springtime,
this mornin' breeze makes me feel fine,
Clears the sky so my eyes can see,
To find my soul to mend.

Sometimes,
you'll find me far behind your sunshine,
tryin' hard just to lose my mind,
and catch that wayward wind.

I'm timing the changes as they
change the times,
leading my life down this very
thin line,
and I find myself just bein' my
old self again,
and I love you, 'cause you
Still wanna be my friend.

A new day, never drags me through the same way,
I dream of deeper loves to know
and leave yesterday behind,
but, sometimes, I run too far into my lost ways,
my heart and soul they torture me
and I'm wanting you again.

I'm timing the changes as they
change the times,
leading my life down this very
thin line,
and I find myself just bein' my old
self again,
and I love you, 'cause you
Still wanna be my friend.

Timing the changes as they
change the times,
leading my life down this very
thin line,
and I find myself just bein my
old self again,
and I love you, 'cause you
still wanna be my friend,
still wanna be my friend.

Long Hard Nights

Written By: Richard Alan

Come back and tell your man you were foolin',
You just like to play these games now and then,
Come back and tell your man your
heart's still true to him,
comeback, let's fall in love again.

There's gonna be some long
nights,
There's gonna be some hard
times,
There's gonna be a heartache
that will never be all right,
There's gonna be some feelin's,
reelin' way down inside of me,
There's gonna be some
Long Hard Nights without you.

Take your time now
wait for your answer,
The truth will find you anywhere,
Take your time now
before you breakdown one more time,
and turn around, say you're still mine.

There's gonna be some long
nights,
There's gonna be some hard
times,
There's gonna be a heartache
that will never be all right,
There's gonna be some feelin's,
reelin' way down inside of me,
There's gonna be some
Long Hard Nights without you.

Without you,
Love is just a memory,
Without you,
I'm so lonely.

There's gonna be some long
nights,
There's gonna be some hard
times,
There's gonna be a heartache
that will never be all right,
There's gonna be some feelin's,
reelin' way down inside of me,
There's gonna be some
Long Hard Nights without you ...

Repeat and fade.

Losin' Like A Winner

Written By: Richard Alan

Country Girl, my old friend,
take me home again,
Your crazy love has lost his way,
I need one more chance to win,
I left you for the city lights,
they left me in the wind,
I'm Losin' Like A Winner again.

Losin' Like A winner Again,
Losin' Like A winner again,
I've got a case of the blues,
My eyes on the lights and
I'm standin' at the rainbows end,
Losin' Like A Winner again.

Time turns around as the sun goes down,
Takes me tumblin' through the past,
Of all the chances I've had to love,
You were best.
I'll never risk this heart again, but
I sure could use an good friend,
I'm Losin' like A Winner Again.

Losin' Like A Winner Again,
Losin' Like A Winner again,
I've got a case of the blues,
my eyes on the lights and
I'm standin' at the rainbows end,
Losin' Like A Winner again.

Gamblin' with love is a game
of a fool and a sure way to lose,
Everybody pays
exactly what you play,
It all comes back to you.

Losin' Like A Winner again,
Losin' Like A Winner again,
I've got a case of the blues,
my eyes on the lights and
I'm standin' at the rainbows end,
Losin' Like A Winner again ...

Repeat and fade.

If We're Ever Wanna Fall In Love Again

Written By: Richard Alan

I'm writin' this letter,
to tell you that I'm missin' you,
Sometimes love is just hard for me to say.
My heart is wide open,
so many feelin's unspoken,
see, I'm hopin' you and I will somehow find a way.

If we're ever gonna fall in love
again, now's a good time,
While these memories of you
and I are so easy on my mind.
The past can be forgotten,
the pain can be forgiven,
if we're ever gonna fall in love
again, let's do it now.

When I saw you this mornin',
simply without warnin',
This old heart of stone went
crumblin' to the ground.
I wanna touch you forever,
closer than together,
I want to face you again and
never turn around.

If we're ever gonna fall in love
again, now's a good time,
while these memories of you
and I are so easy on my mind.
The past can be forgotten,
the pain can be forgiven,
If we're ever gonna fall in love
again, let's do it now,
Let's do it now ...
...While these memories of you
and I are so easy on my mind.

Broken Heart

Written By: Richard Alan

Broken Heart
what will we do with our love,
It's all twisted in fear,
and it won't go away.

Broken Heart
how will we face another night,
we've cried all our tears,
there's nothing more to say.

Where did we go wrong this time
we were so sure of forever,
when will we ever, will we ever
trust our love again.

Broken Heart
will we ever forget,
must we forever burn
in yesterday's flames.

Instr. Break

Where did we go wrong this time
we were so sure of forever,
when will we ever, will we ever
trust our love again.

Broken heart
please be kind to me tonight
it hurts so bad
please, make it go away ...
Broken Heart.

Yesterday's Wine

Written By: Richard Alan

Yes, I know I've been here before,
It's just, I'm not that young anymore,
not as carefree or eager to stray,
but, I'll be okay.
There's no way I can talk to you now,
we've been through this before anyhow,
just the same, if there was only a way, I wish I could stay ... but,

I'm past the point of no return,
too late for the lesson learned,
I'm talkin' about the time when
you were mine.
The bridges now they've all been burned,
I'm off the road, I missed my turn,
out of comforts and out of signs,
like Yesterday's Wine.

No matter what, for better or worse,
Love's a blessing, unless you've been cursed
with not knowing what it's really about and never finding out.
Like some kind of gallant knight
tryin' his best to love someone right, but never quite learned how to fight, hey, take a look at me ...

I'm past the point of no return,
too late for the lesson learned,
talkin' about the time when you were mine.
The bridges now they've all been burned,
I'm off the road I missed my turn,
out of comforts and out of signs,
like Yesterday's Wine ...

Instrumental Break:

Repeat chorus and fade.
