Bio
"A keen musician from the age of six, Richard Inman began playing simple tunes on the piano at his parents' home in Wolverhampton. When he picked up a guitar at the age of 14, he found himself writing his own songs straight away and at the age of 17, with fellow musician Jakob Graf (a Swiss "Young Musician of the Year") he played his first gig to an audience at Atlantic College in South Wales.
Richard is now a promising young singer-songwriter with a passion for honesty. For someone still young, his lyrics show an insightful maturity and like a ghost wandering though the city, he tells stories of lonely strangers, lost friends and old lovers.
Richard's influences include M. Ward, Bert Jansch, James Taylor and Joseph Arthur. His songwriting happens spontaneously, he claims, 'almost as if there's a little songwriting demon in my head that does all the hard work for me, at least when he feels like it...'. He tries to, 'bear little pieces of my soul through the music, but not too much.'
Richard is about to start work on his second album and is also soon to begin studying for an MA in Musicology."
