Three years ago while visiting my friend of forty-five years in Phoenix he asked me about the songs I'd written twenty years ago. Andy was one of the few people who knew anything about my music. I hadn't done anything over the past decade, but at that moment I decided that I should put the collection of songs onto a cd and give it to my kids. I wanted them to see a side of me they didn't know, even though it might creep them out. I also wanted to encourage them to embrace any creative aspirations they might have. That night I decided to call the album, The Shadows of My Mind, I wrote the song later.
So over the next months I went into the back basement late at night and relearned all those songs.
I also started to write again. I did a rough recording of The Shadows of My Mind but was unable to spend the time to refine it. I wrote a second album, A Little Piece of Me, and enough songs for a third, Throw Aways. I also have six songs for a Musical concept, Lisa Likes to Party.
I rented a studio in Dobbs Ferry in December and recorded both albums in sequence without retakes or corrections, so they are a little rough. The songs here are from that session. I'm looking for a producer and musicians to complete the first two albums.
I've played a couple of open mics, and at the local talent night to date, with positive reviews.
I'm looking to start playing out. And that's a little piece of my story.
