he Richard Walton Group is an accomplished, award winning, instrumental contemporary jazz group. The band’s current musicians include Michael Bronson, Michael Gottleib, David Meer, Eric Robertson, Mitchell Shaivitz, Tecla & Richard Walton. Their most recent, critically acclaimed CD, “Junction”, features 13 captivting tracks; often comparing their music to ‘Steely Dan meeting the Pat Metheny Group’ . In 2004, they released an ‘enhanced’ CD, “Live At Blues Alley“; that was recorded at the world famous jazz club in Washington, D.C. Formed in 1991, after being chosen as a semi-finalist in a Mid-Atlantic sponsorship, Richard and his group have gained regional and national recognition through airplay, songwriting contests, corporate & concert performances. The group have a proven reputation as versatile composers, producers & performers. They have collectively received 36 songwriting awards from numerous songwriting contests.
