My solo music is primarily influenced by Bob Dylan and Neil Young. I bring an intimate, heartfelt delivery alongside wry, humorous tunes, but always honest. My music has been described as a lifeline that helps others to breathe. I am nothing if not authentic.

Biography

This music is heartfelt, funny, introspective, tender, raucous, rowdy, vulnerable, and questioning. Whether on the ragged edge of a fragile piano key or rocking through a barnburning guitar rhythm, integrity and authenticity remain at the center. I lay it out as honestly as possible, whether that means being playful or aching to connect. It is that probity which connects with the listener.

Here We Go Now

Here We Go Now

She sells seashells by the seashore but her sister Lucille sells them for a dollar more
You can get them in back of the general store but you just can’t come in through the front door
Grab your car keys, girl, we gotta fly, if your sister finds out, we’re both gonna die
Here we go now

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if Chuckie turned out to be a mallard duck
Poor Chuckie done gone and run outta luck, Chuckie’s getting’ chased by a dog named Buck
C’mon now, Chuckie, better learn how to fly, time to split the ground and take to the sky, here we go now

Peter Piper picked a peck o’ pickled peppers, went and ate ‘em all, now he’s under the weather
Said, Peter boy, you’re lookin’ kinda sick, c’mon over her and take a hit off of this
Peter’s lookin’ good, like he’s startin’ to fly, Peter’s feelin’ good, Peter’s getting’ high
Here we go now
chorus
And every time I say something my words get lost and twisted around like a politician working a crowd
And every time I speak, my words come out a mess, all over the place, I can’t get a date, I can hardly guess, it still comes out wrong, I got to dance, I got to fly, I got to fall
Here we go now

Three, six, nine, oh, the goose drank wine, the monkey chewed tobacco on the street car line
Well, the line it broke, and the monkey got choked and they all went to heaven in a little rowboat
C’mon baby, don’t you monkey with me, the only thing I pray is heaven better be free
Here we go now

Silly Sally swiftly shooed seven silly sheep, she tried to quiet them down, not to make a single peep
She knew the wolf was leering and standin’ oh so close, left poor Sally lookin’ white as a ghost
Oh, Sally grabbed her magic carpet, said let’s ride, seven silly sheep and Sally shootin’ the sky, here we go now

Betty and Bobby brought back blue balloons, didn’t let ’em go ’til a moment too soon
A few got away and tangled with the loons, some sailed clear, won’t you look to the moon
A rowboat, Sally, seven sheep, balloons in the sky, lord what a sight I wish I could fly
Here we go now

Every Day

Written By: Rich DeWilde

Every Day For You

She says she loves me when she’s drunk
rest of the time says nothin’
hold her close my chest / make the pain go away

Sometimes I get to drinking with her/ my heart get’s carried off
my smile a little sadder / realize what we had

It rips me up inside, I can’t find a place to hide
All this love I keep holding for you
Oh darlin’/ I die every day for you
We used to dance down at the bar / don’t know why your heart turned hard
Never know quite what to say / still we wake up every day

At night the bedsheets lie so cold / one more day of gettin’ old
I sit and wander at the stars / The cold is never far

She sits between my legs on my shoulder rests her head
Deep into a bottle of someone’s finest / Oh darlin’ / I die every day for you

And on this killing floor, I just want some more
Of the love I know we both once shared
Oh darlin’/ I die every day for you
And on this killing floor, I just want some more of the love
Oh darlin’/ I die every day for you

Stating the Obvious

Stating the Obvious

Got to end the wars, got to stop the fighting between us
Got to end the wars, got to stop the fighting between us
You go to your room, don’t come out ‘til you’re not fighting
You go to your room, don’t come out ‘til you’re not fighting

You’ll get no dinner, there’ll be no dinner ‘til you’re done fighting
You think I’m kidding here, well, just you try me, mister
Stupid little men, stupid little men, always fighting
Stupid little men, stupid little men, always fighting

It’s been written by the poets and the artists so many times over
Over and over
I don’t understand, no, they don’t understand, still it happens
Over and over and over

Everybody hold hands, and walk in a circle together
Everybody hold hands, and walk in a circle together
You say it’s silly, it’s much better than the fighting
You say it’s silly, it’s much better than the fighting

It’s been written by the poets and the artists so many times over
Over and over
I don’t understand, no, they don’t understand, still it happens
Over and over and over

Wish Away

Written By: Rich DeWilde

Tired of putting out the flame on so many candles
Every day hundreds lighted to be prayed
Over people I know and don’t know / so many candles
And I wish away all the tears
Yes, I wish away all these tears

Dream of love and dream of peace / it’s a beautiful thing
I wonder why this dream is deemed insane
This beautiful dream dares stare into the flame
And I’ll wipe away all your tears
Yes, I’ll wipe away all our tears

All things beautiful fated to an ending
And these words, they melt outside in the rain
We go forth and light yet another candle
And I’ll wish away your tears
We’ll wish away these tears
