"Local Fiddler Releases album"

"Rich Hamilton has Bona Fide Mountain Music soul, and the musical conviction to prove it! This is the kind of music I'll be listening to when i go down the road..." Robert Earl Davis ~The Earl Brothers - Peterborough Transcript

"Cornstalk Fiddle"

Mr Hamilton plays everything on this nice old-time disc—fiddle, banjo and guitar, and while it looks like it’s the fiddle that is featured, some of the nicest sounds here come from Hamilton’s old time banjo pickin, on tunes like COUSIN SALLY BROWN, ARKANSAS TRAVELER, CHILLY WINDS and CIDER MILL. A very pleasant 12-track recording

RICH HAMILTON-CORNSTALK FIDDLE AND A SHOESTRING BOW
No Label, No Number
Although Rich Hamilton has been entertaining audiences for more than three decades with his special brand of old-time mountain music,"Cornstalk Fiddle and a Shoestring Bow"is surprisingly his first recording venture. The 12 songs feature Rich on fiddle, banjo, guitar and vocals. Most of the cuts are traditional and include "Jenny Lynn", "Chilly Winds", and "Lonesome Valley'. Ther's also a trio of tunes from Hamilton's pen("Moonshine Land", "A Trace of Affection", and "Here We Go Again". Perhaps Robert Earl Davis of the Earl Brothers sums it up best when describing Rich's talent: "Rich Hamilton has bona fide mountain music soul and the musical conviction to prove it! This is the kind of music I'll be listening to when i go down the road..." (Fiddle Mill Music, P.O. Box 506,Jaffrey,NH 03452, www.fiddlinrich.com.) - Les McIntyre

Bio

I began my fiddling career in 1978 while living in Homer, Alaska. For the past 30 yrs, Ive been in a number of bluegrass bands in the New England area and have had the opportunity to fiddle at most of the major festivals in the region. Ive also been hired on occasion to fiddle with some of the national touring acts like Karl Schiflet and also Big Country Bluegrass from Va.
Since the release of the "Cornstalk Fiddle" album in Dec 08, Ive been touring solo and writing, recently appearing in WV,VA,NC and PA as well as local dates in NE. The album has been streaming on Sugar in the Gourd.com recently and received a featured review in the Aug 09 Bluegrass Unlimited magazine.
I have the ability to supply a wide variety of sounds and styles, from the traditional and contemporary.
