Richie Aldente

Electro/pop dance band Richie Aldente has seized Seattle and is among a handful of rising bands that are redefining the sound of the post-grunge city. With an intelligent infusion of retro funk, old school soul and contemporary hip-hop, Richie Aldente creates ferociously infectious music that hints of the 70’s & 80’s but is decidedly modern. Although the exquisitely crafted songs reflect the deep chops of the trio–Tim Kennedy, Claudio Rochat-Felix and Ian Sheridan–this band does not take itself too seriously. The over-the-top lyrics purr with sexual innuendo and live performances are fun romps complete with costume changes, disco balls and dance inciting shout outs to the crowd.

The band’s debut CD “For the Ladies,” was greeted with instantaneous enthusiasm and praise. Released in 2011, “For the Ladies” received raves for its crisp production, bumping tracks, stellar compositions and overall sparkling musicality. Two of the singles from the nine-track recording, “Cougar Hunt” and “Give it to the DJ,” will soon be released on 45-inch vinyl. The world premiere of the “Cougar Hunt” video took place over the summer. The band is presently hard at work on its second CD.

Since dropping into the scene, Richie Aldente has played at major nightspots throughout Seattle and has cultivated a loyal and spirited following. The band has toured California and is a favorite among club DJ’s on both the East and West coast. Over the summer, Richie Aldente produced an all-day, outdoor music festival benefiting the nonprofit RockNRenew.
