"Those Midnight Blues"

Richie Barron" The Barron of the Blues" and his " Funk-n-Blues Crew have been featured much more than once or twice on my shows! Richie knows how to produce great CD's. His Trks. will always be a part of my permanent Jump Blues playlist. I am especially fond of his arrangement of BB-Kings. "Thats why I sing the Blues. I love those horns.... and everything else to! His CD's are well engineered, produced and mixed given that many of the trks. are recorded from live events. I can't stop playing them! John Connors, April 14th 2006 - John Connors, WWPV FM 88.7

"Richie Barron "Hiway 2000" CD review"

Guitar slinger Richie Barron's lastest offering both rocks and bops along "Highway 2000" Began his road career at 19 in clubs from Dallas to Chicago with Frank Beard of ZZ Top doing a stint on drums along the way. "Highway" has a little something for everybody with 11 originals. "Doctor Tequlia" starts the party rolling and Barron recalls his time on the road in his "Nomad Chevrolet" or dropping by "Grandpa's Farm" He's had some fun along the way as he testifies to in "Tahoe Boogie" [Up where the dice are rollin, whiskey's flowin free] Some of his vocals recall Leon Russell and Barron makes it clear he's paid some dues with " Down to the end of the Line" and "Waitin on the Mailman" It's nice to hear Stewart Viet's saxaphone and Rich Armstrong's trumpet complimenting Barron's Blues-rock stylings. - Blues on Stage/ Mike Martindale

""Capitolist Blues tune from Marin County""

Dan Aykroyd comments on Richie's song" Rather have the Green than the Blues" in radio interview. - CBS Radio/ House of blues

"Rather Have the Green than the Blues"

Richie is a strog guitarist and he has the right attitude. His music is hard hitting in the Oakland tradition, but it still has a tounge-in-cheek qualitywhich makes it very easy to listen to.This delivery is tried and true, and it's bound to make a lasting impression on blues lovers everywhere.A couple of decades back, Otis Rush made the statement" Give me my flowers now" It appears Richie Barron is making a similar statement with his current offering" I'd Rather have the Green than the Blues" Me too!! - Vintage Guitar Magazine/"Shakin" Dave Hussong
